نظرية فيجوتسكي VygotskyTheory 

ليه العلاقات الاجتماعية أهم حاجة في تطوّر تفكير الطفل؟

ناس كتير لما بتيجي تذاكر نظريات تطوّر الأطفال، بتحس إنها داخل محاضرة تقيلة! بس لما نفهم الموضوع من زاوية الحياة اليومية، بنلاقي إن الكلام دا كله حوالينا، وبنشوفه في ولادنا كل يوم.

هنتكلم عن عالم روسي اسمه ليف فيجوتسكي، اللي شاف إن التعلم مش بيحصل لوحده، ولا على مراحل ثابتة زي ما قال بياجيه، لكن بيحصل من خلال العلاقات الاجتماعية، ومن خلال الكلام والتواصل مع الناس اللي حوالينا.

الطفل بيتولد بإيه؟

فيجوتسكي قال إن الطفل بيتولد ومعاه شوية قدرات بسيطة زي الانتباه، والإحساس، والإدراك، والذاكرة. الحاجات دي لوحدها مش كفاية. اللي بيخلّي الطفل يتطوّر ويوصل للتفكير المعقد هو الناس اللي حواليه، اللي بيكلموه، وبيساعدوه، وبيحفزوه.

مثال:

تخيل طفلين عندهم سنة. واحد بيلعب مع مامته اللي طول الوقت بتسمي له الألوان: "دي الكورة الحمرا، وده البطة الصفرا". والتاني قاعد لوحده في القوضة قدام التليفزيون. النتيجة؟ الطفل اللي بيتكلم معاه أهله بيتعلم كلمات أكتر، وبيفهم أسرع.

إيه هي منطقة النمو القريب؟

واحدة من أشهر أفكار فيجوتسكي هي "منطقة النمو القريب". ودي ببساطة هي الفرق بين اللي الطفل يقدر يعمله لوحده، واللي يقدر يعمله بمساعدة حد كبير أو خبير.

مثال:

طفل في كي جي عايز يتعلم يربط رباط الحذاء. لو سبناه لوحده، مش هيعرف. بس لما أخوه الكبير يقعد جنبه ويوريله الخطوات واحدة واحدة، هيقدر بعد شوية يعملها بنفسه. في الحالة دي، الأخ هو "الآخر الأعلم".

التعلم قبل النمو؟!

فيجوتسكي قال إن الطفل ممكن يتعلم حاجات تفوق سنه لو لقى اللي يساعده.

مثال:

بنت عندها 4 سنين مش بتعرف تقرأ، لكن مامتها كل يوم تقعد تحكيلها حكايات وتخليها تشاور على الكلمات، وتعيد وراها. بعد شوية، البنت بدأت تميّز حروف وكلمات بسيطة، وده رغم إنها لسه ماوصلتش "المرحلة العمرية" اللي المفروض تبدأ فيها تقرأ.

التفكير والكلام.. ليه مهمين لبعض؟

فيجوتسكي شاف إن الكلام هو اللي بيعلّم الطفل يفكر. في الأول الطفل بيتكلم بصوت عالي وهو بيفكر، بعدين يبدأ "يتكلم جوا نفسه"، وده اللي بيخليه يخطط ويتصرف بحكمة.

مثال:

طفل بيحاول يبني برج من المكعبات. تسمعيه بيقول: "هحط الكبيرة تحت، وبعدين اللي بعدها". ده مش لعب وبس، ده عقل بيشتغل! الكلام اللي بيقوله بيساعده يفكر في خطواته، ولما يكبر، هيبدأ يعمل كده من غير ما يتكلم.

هل ينفع نحدد للطفل هو يتعلم إيه؟

فيجوتسكي قال إن دورنا كأهل أو مدرسين هو إننا نلاحظ الطفل ونساعده يتقدّم خطوة بخطوة، مش نقرّر له كل حاجة.

مثال:

لو عندنا طفل بيحب يرسم، ومش بيحب الرياضيات. نبدأ ندمج الرياضيات في الرسم: "تعالى نرسم شكل فيه 3 مربعات و5 دواير". كده إحنا بنمشي معاه على قدراته واهتماماته، وفي نفس الوقت بندعمه يتعلّم الجديد.

فيجوتسكي علمنا إن الطفل مش بيتعلم لوحده، ولا بالنضج بس. هو بيتعلم من اللي حواليه، من الكلام، من اللعب، من الأسئلة اللي بنسألها، ومن التشجيع اللي بنديه.

وقال جملة عظيمة لكل مربي:

"لما ندي الطفل فرصة يتكلم مع غيره، إحنا كده بنديه أدوات يفكر بيها لوحده."

Vygotsky’s Theory: Why Are Social Relationships So Important for a Child’s Cognitive Development?

A lot of people feel overwhelmed when they try to study child development theories—it can feel like sitting through a heavy lecture! But when we look at these ideas through real-life situations, we realize they’re all around us, and we see them in our kids every day.

Today, we’re talking about a Russian psychologist named Lev Vygotsky, who believed that learning doesn’t happen in isolation, and not necessarily in fixed stages like Piaget said. Instead, learning happens through social interactions and through language and communication with the people around us.

What Are Children Born With?

Vygotsky said that children are born with a few basic mental functions, like attention, sensation, perception, and memory. But these by themselves aren’t enough. What helps a child develop and reach more complex levels of thinking is the people around them, who talk to them, support them, and encourage them.

Example:

Imagine two toddlers, both one year old. One plays with his mom, who constantly names the colors for him: “This is the red ball, and that’s the yellow duck.” The other sits alone in a room watching TV. The result? The child whose parents talk to him learns more words and understands faster.

What Is the Zone of Proximal Development?

One of Vygotsky’s most famous ideas is the “Zone of Proximal Development” (ZPD). Simply put, it’s the gap between what a child can do on their own and what they can do with help from a more experienced person.

Example:

A kindergarten child wants to learn how to tie his shoelaces. If we leave him alone, he probably won’t figure it out. But if his older brother sits with him and shows him the steps one by one, he’ll eventually manage to do it himself. In this case, the brother is the “More Knowledgeable Other”.

Can Learning Come Before Development?

Vygotsky believed that children can learn skills beyond their age level if they get the right support.

Example:

A 4-year-old girl doesn’t know how to read yet, but her mom reads her stories every day, points at the words, and encourages her to repeat them. After a while, the girl starts recognizing letters and simple words—even though she hasn’t technically reached the age where reading is expected.

Thinking and Speaking—How Are They Connected?

Vygotsky saw that language plays a big role in helping children think. At first, kids speak out loud while thinking. Later, they begin to “talk to themselves in their head”—this inner speech helps them plan and solve problems.

Example:

A child is trying to build a tower with blocks. You might hear him say, “I’ll put the big one at the bottom, then the next one.” This isn’t just play—it’s thinking in action! The words help him organize his steps, and as he grows, he’ll do this silently in his mind.

Should We Decide What a Child Learns Next?

Vygotsky believed that as parents or teachers, our job is to observe and support—not to control everything. We help the child take one step forward, not ten steps at once.

Example:

Let’s say we have a child who loves drawing but isn’t fond of math. We can blend the two: “Let’s draw a picture with 3 squares and 5 circles.” This way, we’re respecting his interests while still helping him learn something new.

The Big Idea

Vygotsky taught us that children don’t learn on their own, and they don’t just develop naturally with age. They learn from the people around them—through talking, playing, asking questions, and being encouraged.

He left us with a powerful message for every educator and parent:

“When we give children the chance to talk with others, we give them the tools to think for themselves.”
